Labelling Guide for White Label Bath Bombs, Fizzers & Shower Steamers (UK)

If you're reselling AW Aromatics white label bath bombs, fizzers, or shower steamers under your own brand, it’s important to follow UK cosmetic labelling laws. Here's what you need to include on every product label to stay compliant.

1. Product Name

Clearly state what the product is.

Examples: “Rose & Patchouli Bath Bomb” , “Citrus Floral Fizzer ”, “Menthol Shower Steamer”

2. Ingredients List

• INCI format is required (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients). - (can be found on the product label and the website: materials/ingredients)

• Include allergenic substances from fragrance/essential oils (e.g. Linalool, Limonene, Citral. (can be found on the product label and the website: materials/ingredients) 

3. Net Weight

State the weight of each bath bomb or steamer. This should be the weight at the time of packaging.  Examples: 120g, Approx. 60g

4. Batch Number

• Each bath bomb, fizzer or shower steamer must carry a batch number for traceability, This helps in the event of a recall or customer complaint. (can be found on the box / tray label) 

5. Responsible Person Address

• The label must include the name and address of the responsible business (usually the reseller if he wants to be Responsible Person).
• This is required under UK and EU cosmetics regulations.

If you’d like AW Aromatics to act as the Responsible Person for your product, your label must include the following information:

6. Best Before or PAO (Period After Opening)

If the product has a shelf life under 30 months, include a Best Before date.

If it lasts longer, include the PAO symbol:

Example: symbol of open jar 12M (Use within 12 months of opening)

7. Warnings

Add usage warnings where relevant. This helps customers use the product safely and protects you legally.

Examples:

• For external use only.

• Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets into eyes, rinse immediately.

• Not suitable for children under 3 years.

8. Optional but Recommended

• “Vegan” or “Cruelty-Free” (only if accurate)

• Barcode (if selling in retail settings)

• QR code or website URL

• Social media handles

⚠️ Other Legal Responsibilities

• You must not make unproven claims, such as “relieves anxiety” or “treats eczema”.

• You must have access to the CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report) for each product.

• If you are the Responsible Person, you must register the product on the UK SCPN (Submit Cosmetic Product Notification) portal.
